1. Arrival day in the Kiviniemi Farm
Transport from Joensuu airport or railway station.
Welcome & introduction to the week’s programme in the Kiviniemi farm. Getting familiar with the area. In the evening, sauna and dinner in the main building.
2. Day 2: Guided snowshoeing trip 4 hours
Snowshoeing trip to hill Huuhkajavaara. The hill is named after the largest owl in Europe, the eagle owl. The hilly neighbourhood is well suited for the eagle owl – we may have an opportunity to see traces of the owl of the bird itself. On the top of the hill, we’ll have our picnic snacks on a campfire site.

3. Day 3: Guided snowshoeing trip 4 hours
We move by car to Koli National Park and it’s highest peak Ukko-Koli. A snowshoe trip in the National Park offers a great opportunity to explore the beautiful nature in winter. It's a great way to disconnect from everyday life and experience the Finnish winter landscape at its best. We’ll have lunch at the Ukko Nature Centre.
4. Day 4: Guided XCD trip 4 hours
Today we’ll enjoy the peace and scenery of nature on a peaceful trip with XCD (cross-country downhill) skis. The skis are easy to use and combine the best features of snowshoes and hunting/forest skis. During the tour, the guide demonstrates the use and technique of XCD skis.

5. Day 5: Guided XCD trip 4 hours
We leave the Kiviniemi Farm behind us and head towards the Lakkala Heritage Farm in Koli National Park. The tour proceeds on the frozen Lake Herajärvi and in the forests of Koli National Park. Along the way, we’ll have our picnic snacks.

6. Day 6: City of Joensuu
City of Joensuu is the center of North Karelia province in terms of events and restaurant life and shopping.
Accommodation Hotel Lietsu. Boutique Aparthotel Lietsu boasts friendly service and comfortable accommodation. Excellent location in the centre of Joensuu, rooms decorated in traditional Karelian style with a modern twist and delicious breakfast guarantee that your stay will be a memorable experience.
For this last day it is possible to order a Private Husky Safari for an extra fee. The tour takes ca. 45 minutes, and total duraton of the program is 2 hours. On this tour adults will share a sled together 2 per sled. The tour we will enjoy warm drinks and cookies in the kota around campfire.
7. Day 7: Journey home
