Night Kayaking Tour & Wilderness Dining on the 12 Lakes Canoeing Route in North Karelia

Guided canoeing trip in the Outokumpu Wildlife and Nature Centre's landscape on the 12 lake canoeing route amidst the stunning nature of North Karelia. You can see many birds in the area, which are most active at night. The tour starts at the Kaunisniemi café on the Särkiselä beach and goes through 12 lakes back to the starting point.

Along the way, we take a break in the stunning scenery of the Wilderness and Nature Center, have a wilderness dining and nature observation.

Wilderness dining: the night meal includes campfire food made from local ingredients according to the cycle of the year.

Canoeing is always guided by a trained kayaking instructor. The instructor will guide you through the correct kayaking technique. Participants must bring a change of clothes, a towel, a water and windproof jacket and pants, footwear that can get wet and is not slippery on wet rocks (e.g. neoprene slippers or Crocs), sunscreen, a hat with a brim, a drinking bottle and a small snack such as chocolate or snack bars, etc. The arms of the glasses must be attached to the back of the neck with a string so that the glasses do not fall off during the kayaking,

Weather reservation. Kayaking always takes place in a group. Weather conditions may prevent kayaking. If the kayaking is canceled due to weather or a reason attributable to the organizer, the money will be refunded to the customers.

Info:

• The trip is suitable for people in normal physical condition, who are good swimmers (can swim 50 meters with their head underwater), and who have normal balance.
• Under 18s must be accompanied by a guardian or with separate permission.
• The route is 12 km long and there are short stretches of carrying along the way.
• You cannot participate if you are under the influence of intoxicants.
