Vaikko Wilderness - In the roots of mythic Kalevala
Experience the land of Kalevala - 19th century work of epic poetry by Elias Lönnrot. Wander the land of stories such as the Creation of the Earth, robbery of the mythical wealth-making machine Sampo, The Swan of Tuonela and many others. Enjoy the unique nature of Eastern Finland - unspoilt forests, northern lights, wilderness cabins.
The wilderness cabins are situated along Vaikkojoki river in Northern Savonia. The river runs open all year.

Program:
Stay in Finnish wilderness cabin.The cabins are equipped with kitchen, fireplace and sauna. Sauna with hot outdoors bath tub (‘palju’) is available for the guests to use. Theme dinners with local delicacies served in a traditional outside hut (‘kota’). Kalevala theme dinner menus available. Delicacies from the local waters and farmers, prepared for small groups by request only. Hiking in the beautiful, unspoilt nature that is beautiful around the year. Day trip to Koli National Park.
