Try snowshoeing on Hiukka´s beach in Sotkamo!
Welcome to learn snowshoeing on beautiful Hiukka´s beach near center of Sotkamo! During this family-friendly walk you will learn the secrets and techniques of snowshoeing. We will be walking on the ice of Sapsojärvi lake and on Hiukka's beautiful ridge in the middle of a snowy forest. Under the guidance of a wilderness guide, you will learn the secrets of snowshoeing both on the trail and off the trail. We will walk in easy and mainly flat terrain, but you will also get to try walking downhill and climbing uphill on Hiukka's beautiful ridge.
Along the way you will also hear stories about the area and its rich nature. On our snowshoe walk we also might see some animal tracks on snow. For example, can you recognise the snow tracks of a hare or a squirrel?
Come equipped with weather-appropriate clothing and join us on a snowshoe adventure through Hiukka's stunning scenery. See you on the snowshoewalk!
Price: adults 59€, children 45€ (7-14 years)
Price includes: snowshoes and poles rental for the duration of the excursion, guided tour and snowshoeing basics instructions. Warm juice during the excursion.

Booking conditions and availability: Available 1.2.2025-10.4.2025 with advance booking.
Reservations: must be made at least 24h before the start of the desired event. Reservations cancelled less than 24h before the event will be charged 100% cancellation fee.
Please note: Please wear weather appropriate outdoor clothing and warm winter boots for the excursion. We recommend gaiters or long boots for walking in the deep snow. The event will not take place in temperatures below -20 below zero.
