Take a timeout from your busy everyday life and reconnect with the wilderness. This journey includes a 6-day retreat in nature. The accommodation is located in the heart of the North Karelian wilderness, in Venenjoen Piilo. Piilo is a hideaway accommodation, a place to rest and feel the forest surrounding you.
Join us on a journey into the North Karelian nature and discover some of its hidden secrets. On this trip, we will bring you closer to the beautiful and rich nature of Eastern Finland. North Karelia is known for its wild nature and is home to numerous animals such as bears and wolverines. Our excursions will take you to five hidden natural gems in North Karelia. We will spend the first day in the Koli National Park, which has inspired Finnish artists for centuries and remains an important part of our identity.
Piilo (which means a "hideaway") is a small and unique accommodation village. And what nature you'll find here! Koli National Park, old forests, and two unique lakes in the surrounding area. Piilo is built with consideration for nature, sustainable ideas and practices, and in collaboration with the local population.
