Welcome to lose your hurry and stress. This week is for you who want to stop a while and have a your own time and want to experience the healing power of nature on the hiking trips. Take a step back from your busy everyday life and reconnect with the wilderness. In this trip you have 6 days holiday in nature.  Accommodation is  In the heart of North Karelia wilderness in Venenjoen Piilo. Piilo is Hideaway accommodation, is the place to rest and feel the forest around you. 

Have a trip to the North Karelian nature with us and open some of its hidden secrets. In this journey we will introduce you the beautiful and rich nature of eastern Finland. North Karelia is know to its wild life and is a home for several animals like bear and wolverine. Our trips will take you to five hidden nature gems in North Karelia. First day is spend in Koli National Park that has been the inspiration of Finnish artist for centuries and is a big part of our identity today. 

Piilo ( just like a hiding place) is small and unique accommodation village. And what nature you`ll find here! Koli national park, old forests, two unique lakes around. Piilo is built in a nature respecting ways, sustainable ideas and practise and with local people.

Program:

1. Day.
Arrival to city fo Joensuu. Trasfer to Piilo. 
Dinner and getting to know area and the group. 

2. Day |  Koli National Park
After breakfast transfer to Koli National Park.  
First day is spend in Koli National Park that has been the inspiration of Finnish artist for centuries and is a big part of our identity today. Tour takes you to the most well-known scenic points in the Koli National Parks.

3. Day | Petkeljärvi National Park
Second day will take us to Petkeljärvi National Park that has several beautiful hiking trails. National Park is a combination of beautiful forest trails along side of clear water ways.  Pine-clad esker ridges formed during the Ice Age rise over pristine blue lakes in this beautiful part of Finland's eastern borderlands, well worth a day trip or a longer stay.The colourful history of the area during World War Two is also of interest.

4. Day | Patvinsuo National Park
The landscape is decorated with vast expanses of swamp, their colours changing by the season, hills with spruces or pines, narrow bands of trees along the rivers and streams, and small ponds. North of Lake Koitere, with its hundreds of islands, on the borderlands of Ilomantsi and Lieksa, the Patvinsuo National Park is a place where the northern and southern characteristics of nature meet. After a nice walk take a cooling dip by a sandy shore

5. Day | Kolvananuuro Gorge
Kolvananuuro Gorge is a breath-taking sight carved out by Ice Age glaciers in North Karelia. At the bottom of the gorge, a clear stream winds between large glacial erratic rocks. Winter turns to spring about one month earlier at the bottom of the gorge than on the slopes. In Kolvananuuro, the rugged landscape reveals traces of the Ice Age. Over a short distance, the gorge offers a full overview of nature in eastern Finland. The trail travels along the side of steep cliffs and through bogs and old coniferous forests. At the end, it rises to the peak of a fell, opening up a magnificent vista.

6. Day | Island hopping with a Packraft
Kayaking adventure offers views of the wonderful hills of Koli from the lake side. Adventures are directed to the hidden world of Pielinen's numerous islands. An ancient connoisseur of Koli, our paddling guide will take you to his favorite islands with confident paddles! The packraft is easy to paddle and land, and is also suitable for less experienced paddlers. During the tour, a delicious lunch offered by the local cafe Lentävä Luutta is offered.

Returnig to mainland and Piilo.

7. Day 
After breakfast time to say Hei, hei. Transfer to Joensuu.

Trails: 
Hiking: 5 - 15 km/day. Depends on group 
Level: Normal
