Welcome to Kuhmo, close to nature and real experiences! Accommodation at the unique Hotel Kalevala in an accessible room.
This activity week includes lots to do and experience. We will go on excursions and nature observation and enjoy local food. 
Let's have an adventure together in the exotic Arctic Lakeland!

Day 1  Arrival to Kuhmo
- Arrival to Kuhmo and Check in to lakeside Hotel Kalevala
- Evening saunas with indoor and outdoor jacuzzis
- Dinner

Day 2 | Nature and Kuhmo
Meeting the guide and getting to know the programme for the day.
Trip to Pajakkakoski; here, we can take a short walk by the rapids, observing various birds, plants, and fly fishermen in the midst of the rapids.
The guide will share the importance of the rapids in Kuhmo's history, from tar floating to log driving, and their current recreational use.

Visit Juminkeko
- We walk along the riverside path to Juminkeko Cultural Center. En route, the guide provides an overview of the connection between Kuhmo and Kalevala. At Juminkeko, we delve deeper into the topic through exhibitions and videos.

- Return to the riverside path and continue forward. Along the way, we see Kuhmo Church, the tar rower statue, and bear statues.
Self-funded lunch at Neljä Kaesaa lunch restaurant.
- Dinner 

Day 3 | Lentua – Bird Watching, Fishing, and Coffee in a Hut
We walk 300 metres along an easy path to the Lentua rapids. Along the way we see old forests and the large Lentua Lake. The guide will tell you stories about the history of the lake and interesting facts about nature.

 Arrival at the rafting site. We admire the rapids and birds, and have the opportunity to try fishing. There are two wheelchair-accessible launching points at the lake. The fishing permit is self-financed. The guide will also tell you about the well-being benefits of nature and lead a short mindfulness exercise.

Return to the car park where there is an accessible hut. The guide will prepare a soup lunch and coffee.

Day 4 | Activity Day in Vuokatti
Arrival at Vuokatti Sports Institute, where we will rent bikes. Hand-pedaled bikes, recumbent bikes, and mountain bike wheelchairs are available.
Cycling on the Särkis Beach route. Bikes returned. 
- Lunch
 After lunch, we can visit Hiukka Beach. Afterward, we'll return to Kuhmo.

Day 5 |  Bear Watching Night Trip
This is one of the most remarkable experiences in life ! Our bear observatory is one of the one of the best places in the world to observe wild bears. 
Depending on the month. On some evenings, numerous bears at one time, and often some bears can be seen up close. In the vicinity of a house, just a few metres away.

The Bear Watching House is located on a hill with an incredibly beautiful and scenic view. In the Bear House you can simply just sit back and let fun and excitement begin,  It is pure comfort, air-conditioned rooms in the middle of summer or well-heated in the low-temperature season. And there are  toilets and running water in the Bear House.

Day 6 |  Day off
A day of rest after a Night of wildlife watching trip.

Day 7 | It's time to say goodbye to Finland

Price: 1990€/person | 6 night, 7 days.
incl.: All inclusive Tour: Accommodation in Hotel Kaleva in an accessible room. Full board and activities that are on the programme. Guiding for excursion days. (Excluding Bear watching night.)
