Karelianism, Kalevala and Chamber Music
Welcome to a cultural trip to Karelianism, to get to know the Kalevala and enjoy chamber music. Accommodation at the renovated Bomba Spa Hotel on the shores of Lake Pielinen. From Bomba we will take a day trip to Kuhmo, where we will get to know the Juminkeo exhibitions and the roots of the Kalevala and enjoy chamber music at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival.

1. Excursion day: Bomba
Welcome to the Bomba Karelian village and the Bomba spa.
Accommodation in Bomba.
Guided walking tour of the Bomba house and the Karelian village.
Free time. Time for the spa.
Karelian banquet and evening at the inn.
2. Excursion day: Kalevala & Chamber Music
After breakfast, a trip to Kuhmo to experience Kalevala and chamber music.
Visit to the Juminkeko Cultural Centre. The centre has one of the largest Kalevala collections in the world. Kalevalas in different languages can be seen in a display case. You can view their illustrations and listen to reading samples from Juminkeo's own multimedia programme "Kalevala Information Booth". In the Juminkeo auditorium you can watch self-produced audiovisual programmes, including the birth of the Kalevala, Karelianism, the work of Elias Lönnrot, and the Viennese tradition of poetry singing.

- Kuhmo's 55th Chamber Music Concert of your choice. The theme of the summer is Northern Utopia. It immerses us in the unique characteristics of the Nordic culture, lifestyle, state of mind and climate, without forgetting the strong interdependencies and necessary interaction with the rest of the world. There are 3-5 concert exchanges available every day – the concert venues are the magnificent Kuhmo House, the Kuhmo Wooden Church and the Tuupala Wooden School. > > Before or after the concert, a story about the history and present day of the festival will be heard
